Ping URL

Call https://ping.cronfox.com/{task_id}/{token} after each successful run.

Endpoint

GET|POST https://ping.cronfox.com/{task_id}/{token}
  • {task_id} — ID of the CronFox task
  • {token} — secret token issued for that task’s DMS

Auth is the token in the path. This host is separate from api.cronfox.com.

How to call it

  1. Finish the work your job was meant to do.
  2. HTTP GET or POST the ping URL.
  3. Do this inside the grace period configured on the task.

Call the ping from the process that actually completes the work — not only from the HTTP handler CronFox invoked if that handler returns before work is done.

Status parameter

You can send a status as:

  • Query string: ?status=ok
  • JSON body: { "status": "ok" }

If you omit it, the default is ok.

Replace {task_id} and {token} with the values from the task edit form.

Security

  • Treat the ping URL like a secret. Anyone with the full URL can mark check-ins.
  • Do not commit tokens to public repositories.
  • If a token may have leaked, disable DMS, rotate by recreating the task’s DMS setup as supported in the product, and update your callers.
