Introduction
What CronFox is — hosted HTTP cron for recurring API calls.
What is CronFox?
CronFox is a hosted HTTP job scheduler. You point it at a URL, set a cron schedule, and CronFox calls that endpoint on time — with retries, execution history, and alerts when something fails.
You do not manage servers, crontab files, or a worker fleet. Jobs live in your CronFox account and run from our cloud.
Dead Man’s Switch (DMS) in CronFox means an optional post-run ping so you know your process actually finished — not a document management system.
Who it is for
- Operators who need recurring API calls (webhooks, digests, sync jobs) without running cron on their own machines
- Developers who want a dashboard for schedules, history, and notifications
- Teams that need email, Slack, Discord, Teams, Telegram, or custom webhook alerts when jobs fail
How it works
- Create a collection — a folder for related jobs (for example “Billing” or “Ops”).
- Add a task — URL, HTTP method, optional headers/body, and one or two cron expressions.
- CronFox runs the job — on schedule (or when you click Run now), records the result, and notifies your enabled integrations.
- Optional DMS — your process pings a unique URL after it finishes; if no ping arrives in time, the run is marked missed.
